Layout Panels

A layout can have from 1 to 3 vertical panels. The panel sizes can vary depending upon the choice of the layout. Each vertical panel can have 0 or more widgets. By default, some layouts may be populated with widgets when first added, but these widgets can be easily added/edited/removed.

The figure below shows three panels indicated by the arrows. Each panel has one or more widgets in them. For example, the first panel has one widget in it and the second panel has two.

Each panel has a fixed height, and the available height is divided equally between the number of widgets within that panel. So generally, it is not recommended to have more than three widgets in a panel because the size of the widgets can otherwise become too small to be useful.
